As President of the Hydrographic Society of South Africa, and on behalf our members, we welcome all esteemed presenters, exhibitors and delegates to AfricaGeo and our beautiful city of Cape Town.

For those who have not visited our fair shores before, we know that you will take the opportunity to maximise your experience in the “Mother City” and have a taste of our great hospitality and wonderful scenery, and activities to meet everyone’s requirements.  To those that have visited Cape Town on previous occasions, whether for business or pleasure, you will know what I am talking about, and we trust you will have a glorious stay with us.

There are some close synergies between the land surveying profession and the hydrogrgraphic surveying profession, and we look forward to exploring these synergies at AfricaGeo.

We wish the organisers of AfricaGeo the greatest of success with this conference, and look forward to hosting more of these events in the future.
